GORX Fitness – Make Money With Your Home Gym
You absolutely can start a home gym and save a ton of money compared to a commercial gym. But for most of us, that doesn’t happen. A never ending list of wants and shiny objects has our gyms growing, changing, and becoming more and more expensive. My typical argument is, you gotta spend your money on something… and there are far worse things to spend money on than gym equipment. But what if you wanted to recoup some of those funds? Either to keep the new gear train rolling, or simply to pay yourself back for your investment? That is where GORX Fitness steps in.
Who is GORX Fitness?
Andrew and Trevor are two dudes with home gyms. They had the thought that their home gym was sitting idle for close to 23 hours a day, every day of the week. Maybe you make YouTube training footage from your home gym. Or you simply own a home gym and want to use that free time to make some extra income.

Haven’t We Seen This Before?
There have been a number of companies who have tried to be the “AirBNB” of home gyms. One of them even sponsored the GGC in the VERY first year. I’ve seen most of them drop off. Their goal was to provide a simple listing service where people could find the gym, use it, and pay you. There are a number of problems with those platforms and why most have dropped off the map.
I had one reach out to me a few months back on Instagram about listing my gym. After some research I found out that they were cutting corners with insurance, telling people to essentially lie to save money on their taxes, and other less than ideal stuff.
What Makes GORX Fitness Different?
These other companies were listing your gym on their site. That was it. They wanted you to list your gym as open for rent, pay a monthly fee to be listed, no matter what happens moving forward. This was a bad idea right out the gate. I’m paying you before I get anything. No proven track record, no guaranteed income, nothing. And a lot of them ended it right there. You were left holding the liability, the expenses, the tracking, everything.
GORX Fitness instead lets you list your gym at no cost. You only pay them, when you make money THROUGH their resources.
GORX Fitness also offers a TON of resources for people who want to make this happen. Scheduling and access resources, payment processing, even insurance and liability. Yes, they will help you determine the right steps around insurance, waivers, and anything else you might need to keep yourself out of trouble.
Want to block off time for yourself, your family, your friends to lift? No problem. Their scheduling platform lets you block out times for you to lift, to sleep, to do whatever.
Their platform helps with communications, sharing garage and gate codes, even passwords for streaming services.
And one of the BIGGEST parts of running a small business… TAXES! They can help you get the right information for your taxes. As someone who spent multiple years avoiding starting a business because of the tax complexities and having to dig through this myself to learn about LLCs and a ton of other options and acronyms… this is a big one!
Whats Next?
GORX Fitness is still evolving. They are building their app, website, and their team. They hope to be able to influence the entire home gym community by partnering with home gym businesses, home gym equipment manufacturers, and home gym owners/users alike. What I see different with them, is that they are trying to truly help people go down the right path to do this. Morals and ethics behind a business plan might not be the way to a quick buck, but it certainly aligns with what the Garage Gym Competition runs on.
