Bells of Steel – Trunk To Top 5 Contender
Bells of Steel owner Kaevon began selling kettlebells out of his trunk. Over the course of the past decade they have grown to be a Top 5 Home Gym Manufacturer competing with the best of the best. Racks, Bars, Benches, Belt Squats, and a ton more. What began in Canada has jumped across the boarder to the States as they continue to offer quality equipment at a fantastic price.
They work with powerlifters, crossfitters, and anyone who pursues big lifts at home. In the past several years they have expanded their processes to include true R&D, where they aren’t simply offering good stuff at a good price, but producing things no one else does. Bells of Steel continues to grow, adapt, and change… just like the Home Gym Community.

What Do They Make?
Bells of Steel has historically focused on producing quality equipment at a super affordable price. Their initial product line was a bit skewed towards the Crossfit world. However, they continue to follow the trend of the home gym community and have expanded into the powerlifting arena and even started approaching the bodybuilding world.
Power Racks
The original racks from Bells of Steel were 2.2 x 2.2, which was WIDELY outside of the industry standard. Their new 3×3 racks are a sure fit for all attachments, whether you go Bells of Steel or with another GGC sponsor. This means you KNOW they will be compatible with all the new stuff coming out, today and into the future.
Their beefier Hydra Series Racks are a good example of this. This is Bells of Steel “growing up” if you would. Their newest rack attachments include what they call the Manticore, which is a rack attached Leg Developer option.
Barbells
Their Barenaked Powerlifting Bar has won awards and accolades from many for being the BEST budget barbell for powerlifting purposes. Even compared to ultra budget Amazon products, this bar kicks some ass in both price and performance. You are going to deal with BARE STEEL, but considering this bar costs half of what some of the other highly recommended bars cost with similar specs, it is hard to ignore if you are setting up a home gym or considering adding a new bar to the rotation.
Machines
This is the newest frontier for Bells of Steel. Their Belt Squat has been a favorite of people from picky lifters, to bodybuilders, to powerlifters for several years now. But their Pulley Tower has gained a LOT of notoriety for it’s ability to expand in the DIY space. You can take a couple hundred bucks and some creativity and have a full fledged functional trainer that takes up almost no space.
Their flagship bench, the Buzzsaw Bench, comes with industry standard attachments. They even figured out how to beef up their HERO Heavy Duty bench with a Leg Developer.
If you like your machines a little more dedicated, they’ve recently launch a Hip Thrust Machine, a 2n1 Leg Press and Iso Lateral Leg Press, and a Reverse Hyper.
The Bamboo!
Ok, this is a little odd… but have you worn a Bamboo shirt before? Bells of Steel makes one and I first got my hands on it about 6 or 7 years ago. Kaevon sent me one… I honestly don’t remember why. But I wore it and immediately had my wife try it on. We were HOOKED!!!
When I say “the most comfortable shirt I’ve ever worn”, I’m not exaggerating. There are only two downsides to them… first is that they can stretch, and second is that the printing can wear off easily.
But the fit and feel is second to none. They are heavy, but somehow extremely comfortable. Bamboo is cooling and helps with moisture as well as odor. So the shirts are fantastic for a lift shirt.
I’m blown away that bamboo isn’t in more workout clothes. We liked it so much we went out and bought bamboo bed sheets and pillow covers. Now they sell a Bamboo Sweatshirt that has been haunting my dreams for awhile.
If you are looking for a new shirt, try one. Seriously. For science.

And the Sweatshirt here.
Bells Of Steel And The Garage Gym Community
Bells of Steel was one of the very first equipment sponsors for the Garage Gym Competition, jumping in in Year 1! They’ve done AMAs on Reddit r/HomeGym, handed out a ton of giveaways, and been an active member of the greater garage gym community since their inception. You’ll see that they regularly take community feedback and ideas into consideration for building out their newest offerings.
When they first dropped their Safety Squat Bar it received feedback from a number of athletes including Adam at Garage Gym Lab. They went back to the drawing board and have since relaunched it with a number of features that you don’t find anywhere else.
Most companies grow and lose touch with the community that built them. Bells of Steel seems to have kept their ears open and it is paying them back well. What started in a trunk, is now one of the most sought after and well regarded equipment companies in Canada AND the US. And they have more coming!
