Things learned from the Fostering Strength GGC
There were a lot of good learnings from this evening. We learned that babysitters are essential, that music choice makes a ton of difference, and that cheers and positivity are infectious.
Overall, time was not too large of a factor as we had all maxes completed for all parties in just over 2 hours (Started at 7:30pm and finished around 9:45pm).
One change we would make is that we would assign partners for videoing purposes. We would get very excited about watching someone hitting a big lift and on 2 occasions, failed to video those. Another change is that we will change up the types of plates to accommodate the true heavy lifters. Bumpers do not allow for the highest amount of weight to be added to the bar, and the highest max attempted was 565lbs, and would have attempted more, but was unable to add weight to the sleeves.
This will be repeated next year, and hopefully will have not only more lifters, but an audience to cheer on the lifters! Looking to make this a neighborhood thing in addition to just including my friends.
