HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE 2024 SUMMER MINIGGC? Free, Simple, and Fun
Just like the normal garage gym competition, we keep it simple. You have a few events to choose from, participate in the ones you want. Just do it during the week of July1st through July 6th.
Record your participation, upload it to the channel of your choosing, use the Hashtag (#miniGGCSummer24), fill out the submission form and you are done.
We are doing a donation to VetWOD for the summer event, which feels appropriate for the July 4th week. $1 per participant, capped at $500.
Our prize up for grabs is a 190lb plate set from HomeGrownLifting. This was actually handed out during the Spring 2024 GGC, but Jesus in his own words
“I’m super stoked to have won the plates, but I don’t actually need them. In the spirit of what this comp is about, I’d rather just give these back to the home gym community.”
So, here we are, tossing Jesus’ prize up for the next lucky lifter in need!
WHAT ARE THE EVENTS Get ready to get funky
We spend most of our time talking about and thinking about lifting. So this time we are gonna do something a little different. We have three events, all super simple, with essentially “no rules”.
Dance – Most of us listen to our own music while we lift. A huge bonus of the home gym. Go ahead and record you busting a move during your warm-ups, between sets, as part of your cardio session, whatever it is. If you dance in your home gym, it counts!
Dunk – We’ve done it before, we are doing it again. The fan favorite… Dunk Contest! With summer here, feel free to expand that out into the pool, street, or wherever you get your rim shattering dunk on. Mini hoops, full sized hoops, things that look like hoops, its all good.
Revolution – Simple is as simple does. Take your best 4th of July picture or video, and submit it. Enjoying some good food, watching fireworks, drinking an adult beverage… its all good. And if you are outside of the US, hey, we still love ya. Share whatever you are doing on the 4th of July with us, and we’ll count it!
Seriously, that simple. Not heavy lifts, just some fun stuff during the week of July 1st through the 6th. If you wanna do a funky dance, then dunk on some fool, on July 4th while eating ribs, I’ll even count it for all 3 events!

Do I Have To Do All Three Events?
No, you can do one, two, or three. I think they are all simple enough to do in a week, but you do you.
How Do Prize Winners Get Selected?
Every event you enter, gets you a “raffle ticket”. We choose a ticket at random on July 7th, announce the winner July 8th, and contact you via email to collect your prize.
