2021 Council
The Garage Gym Competition Council is made up of 7 positions: 1 chair, 3 permanent positions, and 3 rotating community positions. The chair starts discussions, opens up voting, and sidebars topics. The 6 members have equal voting rights, and openly discuss, debate, direct, and ultimately approve everything that happens with the competition. Communications, flyers, logos, processes, sponsors and prizes, and more.
Below are the 3 community positions from 2021.
Brian Doyle
Sponsor Sales
This gives him excellent insight into the pro/cons of being a sponsor, where we can improve, and overall… What would get us bigger and better prizes! He is running the Sponsor Sub Group alongside our returning members.
Bruce’s athletic background includes coaching competitive cheerleading for 10 years and D1 collegiate for another 4. He has completed Ironmans and Marathons and lifts out of his garage.
Eric Kang
Data
Eric is running the show behind the scenes on all things data. Expect a cleaner and more accurate submission form, as well as seeing some awesome post-competition analysis. Some cool things in the works here to take the GGC up a few notches.
His background in accounting, entrepreneurship, and law help tremendously with background discussions about abilities for the GGC to grow.
Eric has competed in the GGC the last two years
Chris Sohn
Coaching and Training
Chris joins the 2021 GGC Council as the first Non-US resident. His background and experience make him the perfect leader of the Sub-Group focused on Coaching and Training… Look for him and his team to push the envelope on our training tips this year, they are responsible for the official GGC Program, and more!
Chris has competed in the competition since the beginning, and is a r/HomeGym Moderator on Reddit… To say he is an active member of the #GarageGymCommunity is putting it lightly.
