I got into fitness reading my father’s muscle and fitness magazines as a kid. The bodybuilders and lifters inside reminded me of some of my favorite comic heroes.
Then, when I turned 10 my father took me to the gym for the first time and started teaching me to lift. I was always into sports, playing football, baseball and eventually falling in love with lacrosse. My love for comics stayed as well and I got into card games and anime from that. I continued lifting both to get better at sports and to look like the bodybuilders I looked up to.

After having my first kid, I ended up not having time to work out and started to gain a lot of weight. A few years later, I made my way back and someone suggested I compete as a powerlifter. From there I was hooked and I have been competing for the past few years, I have been to both regional and national competitions. I got certified as a personal trainer and have been coaching people to both get stronger and lose weight since.
I found the GGC online and though I have never competed in it, I have loved the idea of a competition people can compete in who do not have the time, money or ability to access local meets. I saw the GGC was reaching out for coaches and contributors so I replied with interest to help support this awesome program.
