Want to Host a GGC Meet?
Want to run a GGC Meet for your friends, family, neighbors, and more from your own garage gym? Good! We want to help! Whether you have an annual local meet with white lights, combo racks, and judges, or you need help finding a few local lifters to have some fun chasing new PRs together, or anywhere in between… We got you! GGC Meets are for those looking to share the love of their garage with others!
Do I Have To Host A Meet?
Nope! The VAST majority of athletes will compete in their home gym, by themselves or with a family member or two. No meet required. We offered some resources and extras for those that want to take their GGC Experience to a new level… hence, making it a formal thing to “Host a Meet”… but don’t feel pressured to do so.
WHY REGISTER? This is YOUR meet, so we aren't trying to change that.
We just want to help make sure your ideas and goals are supported. We can help design and produce Meet Shirts for your lifters, help find additional local athletes, we’ve got a bunch of links to ideas, a checklist, and more… and Garage Gym Experiment even tosses in funds for the first handful of meets… $50 towards your food, drink, and other expenses.
A Few Things To Keep In Mind
- Make sure your event is scheduled during the week of the GGC. If it doesn’t fall within the week of the Garage Gym Competition, it won’t qualify as a local event, and prizes are off the table.
- Speaking of prizes, all of your lifters will qualify for the prizes up for grabs from the GGC. And if they aren’t interested themselves, that just means more chance at goodies for yourself!
- Make sure all lifters follow the typical rules of recording, uploading, and completing the tracker.
- To qualify as a GGC meet, you need to have a minimum of 5 lifters competing. So, for a local meet at your gym, make sure you have enough friends, family, neighbors, or local lifters ready, or be ready to open your doors to some new friends (we’ll help you find em).
- If you have less than 5, no worries. You can still participate like everyone else. We are just focusing our meet resources for those with larger events.
Ok I’m In… Gimme the Details
First, work through the registration form. It’ll let us know what kind of event you plan to run and how we can help. Based on the information you provide, we’ll get you access to our curated content, discount codes, and resources to help you run a badass official GGC Meet.
You can register for a local meet anywhere up to the final day of the GGC itself! But, if you want any support in making meet shirts, taking advantage of some of the discounts and prizes available… you’ll need to register about 30 days out from the next event.
