American Barbell – Innovating Since 1978
American Barbell is one of the few BIG manufacturers that actually makes the vast majority of their equipment in house. If you aren’t familiar, AB is in just about every commercial gym across the US. Plates, bars, dumbbells, cable attachments, and more.
What has made them a favorite in the commercial space, is starting to bleed into the home gym community. They make almost everything in house, which is extremely rare. What Is New With American Barbell?
They recently dropped the Chewy Bar. This is an IPF Spec, Stainless Steel bar with a new take on aggressive knurling. A downside of the typical more pronounced knurling is that it absolutely destroys your hands. The Chewy Bar aims to offer the same no slip grip without the need to have your hands recover after a good workout.
Stainless Steel shaft and chrome sleeves mean no maintenance. Undoubtedly this bar is going to look good today, and when you hand it down to your kids.
The Home Gym Discord worked with American Barbell to design this bar. A group of home gym enthusiasts who nerd out on the specifics of equipment design. This group worked directly with American Barbell alongside Brandon Campbell to come up with the specs for this bar. What Else Should I Check Out?
I personally own multiple cable attachments from American Barbell. Their Rotating V-bar is one of the most used attachments in my gym. They even have an American Made cable attachment line.
You’ll see their dumbbells in some of the BEST stocked home gyms out there, including Garage Gym Lab’s place.
They regularly have clearance and blemished items for sale, including right now a STUPID deal on their bumpers.
And you can even outfit your entire gym through them as they sell racks, plates, and everything else you’d need.
American Barbell is such a well known brand with insane capabilities, that companies like Kabuki Strength partner with them to produce some of their equipment.
If this is your first time learning about American Barbell, I think you are going to see a lot more of them in the near future.
